Creative Company Service Days: Corporate Volunteers in Chicago Parks

It’s been a great summer for corporate responsibility! Check out these photos of our wonderful partners Softchoice, Cofactor, and Motorola Mobility Foundation cleaning up parks throughout Chicago.

Oz Park

SoftChoice employees braved the rain on May 12, 2016. The group of 30 started the morning off with a revitalizing stretch and then collected trash throughout the park. Softchoice was a HUGE help as the park was littered with small pieces of trash. The group stayed at the park until there was no trash in sight even though it was such a dreary day. They even got to take a group photo with the Tin Man!

Lincoln Park

Cofactor joined us to clean up Lincoln Park on June 24th, 2016. The group was small yet mighty, and they scoured every inch of the area for trash. They ended up throwing away over 14 bags of trash including an old billboard that looked like it had fallen off a bus. Lincoln Park community members were intrigued by this day of service, and some passerby’s even followed by example and picked up trash they saw laying on the grass.

SoftChoice came out once again on July 8th, 2016 for a much sunnier day at the park! Although Cofactor was there cleaning a couple weeks before, there was still plenty of work to be done. The Softchoice group gathered 225 pounds of trash throughout the park and beach. This goes to show it all adds up! A cigarette butt, wrapper, or water bottle can all end up “trashing” our parks.

Eckhart Park

A very enthusiastic group of interns and employees from the Motorola Mobility Foundation came out to Eckhart Park on July 21st, 2016. Although the group was threatened by a storm and nearly unbearable heat, they worked diligently to pick up trash and mulch trees. In the end they mulched over 80 trees and left the park spotless!
