Tee Up in Chicago Parks in Summer 2016

Free golf and life skills for kids in 25 Chicago parks this summer!

The Chicago Park District also offers free golf for kids with an adult

The First Tee will be providing this program for kids as a part of the Chicago Park District’s day camp experience. The class session will run for 1 hour, and meet once a week for the 6-week duration of summer camp.

The First Tee program is unique as it teaches children about various life skills while they play golf with their peers. Participants learn to appreciate diversity, introduce themselves, manage emotions, plan for the future, resolve conflicts, and set step-by-step goals.

The First Tee of Greater Chicago’s partnership with the Chicago Park District dates back to 2000 when the chapter was founded by KemperSports.  Today the chapter partners with the park district and its managing partner, Billy Casper Golf Management, to offer The First Tee Life Skills Experience to nearly 500 youngsters at 5 Chicago Park District golf facilities located throughout the city.

Chicago Parks Foundation & Jackson Park Golf Course

You’re invited! The Chicago Parks Foundation is hosting Play for the Parks Golf Invitational at Jackson Park Golf Course on July 18th, 2016. First tee is at 12 noon.

Just minutes from downtown, Jackson Park Golf Course is the Chicago Park District’s only 18-hole course with mature hardwood trees protecting the fairways, putting an emphasis on accurate shots. This signature event will host players to lunch, 18 holes of golf, and a reception hosted by Aramark Sports and Entertainment with a silent auction and awards.
