Meet the Green Team: Benesch

Benesch joined us for a Green Teams clean-up on July 16th at Humboldt Park.

This is their second year hosting their “Summer of Service” event with us.

How does your organization’s mission relate to the volunteer work you've done with CPF?

Benesch is committed to active community involvement; supporting employees’ service and financial contributions to charitable causes; and finding ways in which we can lessen our impact on the natural environment. There are several internal programs that we have created and this Summer of Service event is always a big one. Our employees and their families across all our different office locations enjoy taking a part in this every summer.

‘Community Minded' is one of the core missions we try to uphold at Benesch. We hope that through doing events like Green Teams we are able to help make a difference outside of our office for everyone in the community.

Share a highlight of your event experience:

A lot of people from our group live near the Humboldt Park area and they were very excited to get to help clean up an area that they feel is home to them. It really feels like you get to make a huge difference when it's a place that is so local to your every day life. Something that seems so simple as picking up garbage from some walkways goes a very long way, and it becomes something that hopefully inspires others to do the same.

YOU CAN PITCH IN, TOO!

Thanks to the generous support of our Green Teams, the Chicago Parks Foundation equips thousands of volunteers with free supplies for our Pitch In for the Parks citywide program.

While our 2024 Green Teams season has come to a close, we’d love to work with you next year! Green Teams are available June through October annually. Please reach out to discuss your event, or join our alternative Pitch In for the Parks effort!

You can also join us with a gift or become a Chicago Parks Foundation Member! Your support helps make vital park programming like Pitch In for the Parks possible. When you invest in the parks, you invest in the communities who love and depend on them.
