IT’S YOUR PARK DAY

YOUR Park, YOUR Day, Celebrate in any way!
Our Pitch In for the Parks season of citywide park clean-ups runs June through October each year. We kick it all off with a special event called It's Your Park Day.
It’s Your Park Day is a community clean-up day across dozens of Chicago parks! Most groups will spend their event doing a trash pick-up. Events hosted by Park Advisory Councils (PACs) may include additional activities like tree mulching, playground woodchip replenishment, and more. Free, fun, family-friendly.
Host or Volunteer: Click here to register to host an IYPD event, or pick a park from the growing list below to register to volunteer. Learn more about both options below.
WHO CAN HOST IYPD?
The short answer is... anyone! IYPD hosting is extended to the community. Get your scout troop, book club, block club, or neighborhood friends together.
*If a Park Advisory Council (PAC) is also interested in hosting, CPF will coordinate with the PAC and your group on how to best collaborate. Let's cover as many of our 600+ parks as possible together!
WHAT IS MY ROLE AS A HOST?
Each IYPD event needs a host to serve as the point of contact. All IYPD events are open for the public to join as volunteers. They are typically simple 2-hour trash pickup events.
Hosts help promote the volunteer registration link, receive the supply delivery, and independently lead the event on May 31st.
CPF creates and manages your volunteer registration page, delivers supplies directly to your home or park, and communicates via email to coordinate your event.
Volunteer at a participating IYPD park! Family-friendly. Click the park name to register to volunteer there on Saturday, May 31st.
Each park has its own start/end time and additional details on the registration page. Activities may include trash pickup, tree mulching, playground woodchip replenishment, and more.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER IYPD?
We keep pitching in - and we hope you'll join us!
IYPD kicks off our Pitch In for the Parks (PIFTP) program running June through October. Just like IYPD, we provide hosting PIFTP groups with complimentary supplies to independently host trash pick-ups - but PIFTP events can be at the park, date(s), and time(s) of your choice June-October. Or organize a Green Teams volunteer event for your corporate group at a park in need!
