The Chicago Parks Foundation (CPF) Auxiliary Board is a group of young professionals who are dedicated to connecting our community with our parks and furthering CPF’s mission through volunteering, outreach, and signature board events.

We are excited to welcome two new members to CPF’s Aux board this month, Mallory Moran and Maggie McKeon! Mallory, the Manager of Business Development Operations at NetSuite, is obsessed with the outdoors. Maggie, the Senior Art Director at GrubHub, joined CPF’s aux board to get more involved in her community. We can’t wait to see what innovative ideas Mallory and Maggie will bring to the table!

Do you love Chicago’s parks? Are you looking for ways to get involved with your Chicago community? We are currently seeking young professionals who are energized to advocate for Chicago’s parks to join our Auxiliary Board! We have a lot of exciting ideas for 2016, and need help organizing events and spreading awareness of our efforts.

If you think you would be a good fit for our board, please contact Jennie Scheerer at jscheerer@chicagoparksfoundation.org for more information.

Team ChiParks

CPF’s Auxiliary Board had a huge part in the success of Team ChiParks this year. We supported the Chicago marathon team by hosting a happy hour at Revolution Brewing, where attendees enjoyed two hours of unlimited pints of Revolution’s five core house beers and a delicious buffet. This event raised $2,000 for Team ChiParks!

Running for Chicago Parks Foundation was a no-brainer. I’m happy helping any efforts to make the city and world around us greener.
— George Pitsilos, Team ChiParks Runner

In addition to this event, we supported individual runners such as George Pitsilos. George, who is a student focusing on sustainable engineering and film-making with an environmental focus, was a first time marathon runner for Team ChiParks.

CPF’s Auxiliary board made it possible for George to run in this year’s marathon. We are so happy George was able to have this opportunity, and we look forward to supporting George and more runners like him in the future!
