Meet the Green Team: KPMG U.S.

KPMG U.S. joined us for a Green Teams clean-up on August 2nd at Jackson Park.

This is KPMG U.S.’s second year volunteering with the Chicago Parks Foundation as a Green Team! Last fall, KPMG U.S. cleaned up Douglass Park. They connected with CPF afterward to research ways to make a larger community impact.

KPMG U.S. is a global network of professional firms providing audit, tax and advisory services. Environmental, social and governance (ESG) is a core asset to KPMG U.S.’s business.

Why is volunteering for the parks important to your organization?

Two of the main ESG focuses at KPMG U.S. are people and planet. We can have a huge impact in our community by prioritizing environmental sustainability at all levels of our firm. And by volunteering together for the Chicago Parks Foundation, we can build relationships among colleagues while bettering the community so that everyone can thrive.

How does your organization’s mission relate to the work you’re doing with CPF?

KPMG U.S.’s mission is to use our capabilities to have the largest tangible impact for our people, communities, planet and society. Our work with CPF has allowed our colleagues to get involved in their local communities to better the planet in a sustainable way.

Share a highlight of your clean-up event experience.

We packed two buses full of KPMG U.S. employees and headed to Jackson Park. As soon as we got off the bus, the CPF team members were shocked by how many people had shown up. They were excited and appreciative to have all the help cleaning up trash along the playground, bushes, park benches and walkways. Within two hours, our colleagues were able to re-mulch a playground and pick up pounds of trash!

Thank you for joining us again, KPMG U.S.!

YOU CAN PITCH IN, TOO!
