Meet the Green Team: Slipstream

Slipstream joined us for a Green Teams clean-up on June 10th at Humboldt Park.

Slipstream is a nonprofit on a mission to combat climate change with a focus on equity. They connected with CPF by searching for volunteer opportunities that aligned with their environmental mission.

Why is volunteering for the parks important to your organization?

Access to clean and safe parks has so many benefits for people's health and happiness. Volunteering our time with CPF was a great opportunity to contribute to people in Chicago having that access.

How does your organization’s mission relate to the work you’re doing with CPF?

A large part of our work is improving the built environment in Chicago to ensure everyone has access to safe & healthy housing. Everyone should also have access to safe, healthy, and clean parks and outdoor spaces.

Share a highlight of your clean-up event experience.

We had a great time comparing trash we found and had some friendly competition to find the coolest and strangest trash!

Thank you for pitching in, Slipstream!

YOU CAN PITCH IN, TOO!

Thanks to the generous support of our Green Teams, the Chicago Parks Foundation equips thousands of volunteers with free supplies for our Pitch In for the Parks citywide program.
