Meet the Green Team: Adyen

Adyen joined us for a Green Teams clean-up on September 20th at Garfield Park.

Adyen is the financial technology platform of choice for leading companies. By providing end-to-end payments capabilities, data-driven insights, and financial products in a single global solution, Adyen helps businesses achieve their ambitions faster. With offices around the world, Adyen works with the likes of Facebook, Uber, H&M, eBay, and Microsoft.

As a part of our community impact initiatives, our Chicago chapter wanted to partner with a local organization that focuses on helping our community parks. We did a search for organizations and found the Chicago Parks Foundation!

Why is volunteering for the parks important to your organization?

We love Chicago and want to continue being a part of the community. Volunteering for the parks and giving back is right in line with Adyen’s commitment to support social and sustainable development, economic growth, and climate action.

How does your organization’s mission relate to the work you’re doing with CPF?

At Adyen, we build for the long-term. And this is not limited to our ambitions in financial technology, we are committed to driving positive change in the communities we live and work in. To guide our efforts, we participate in initiatives that impact the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. Partnering with CPF was a perfect opportunity to give back and support a neighboring community in Chicago.

From the team…

  • “It was satisfying to approach a littered area knowing that once I was done, it would be clean. After removing dozens of little wrappers, the flowers felt more like a garden and without clutter park benches became relaxing places to sit.”

  • “It was nice to think about all the empty bags we had at the start of the clean up and how they were all full of trash by the time we left. Everyone worked a little differently. Some focused on bigger items and taking frequent trips to the dumpster and others focused on large quantities of little pieces of trash.”

  • “It was great to step away from the office and connect with teammates while cleaning up a beautiful park. I wish park cleanups weren’t needed but it felt good to do our part.”

Thank you for pitching in, Adyen!
