Meet the Green Team: KPMG LLP in Chicago

KPMG joined us for two Green Teams clean-ups this season, on September 12th at Montrose Beach and on September 14th at Horner Park.

KPMG LLP in Chicago is one of the world's leading professional services firms and the fastest growing Big Four accounting firm in the United States. KPMG learned about the Green Teams opportunity through their Living Green Network, and also returned having pitched in with us in the past!

Why is volunteering for the parks important to your organization?

From procuring renewable energy and advancing climate reporting tools to protecting our planet’s biodiversity and reducing emissions, KPMG is prioritizing environmental sustainability at all levels of our company. Through KPMG’s Living Green Network, KPMG is committed to reducing our organization’s impact on the environment. Our people across the country are integrating cleaner, smarter, more sustainable practices into the way we do business—from operations to supplier relationships to the way we serve our clients and communities. Volunteering in our local communities is critical to contributing to our overall mission around environmental sustainability.

How does your organization’s mission relate to the work you’re doing with CPF?

KPMG's Living Green Network empowers our professionals to leverage their careers to tackle the world’s toughest environmental problems by acting locally through clean-ups and volunteer events, partnering with non-profits, implementing best practices around sustainability in our offices, and supporting the annual Living Green Week every April. The Chicago Parks Foundation has been a great nonprofit partnership that allows us to leverage our network of employees to give back to our local Chicago communities.

Share a highlight of your clean-up event experience.

Nearly 100 of our Chicago Advisory professionals came together at Horner Park and Montrose Beach parks to pick up trash and mulch trees - including picking up nearly 400 lbs of trash!

Thank you for pitching in once again, KPMG!
