Our friends at Boxed Water have donated hundreds of cases of their water to Chicago health care workers to help keep them hydrated during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Boxed Water has been a generous partner to us over the years, providing supplies for our Green Teams park clean-up program and for many of our past special events like It’s Your Park Day and Camp Northerly. We love partnering with Boxed Water because, as Midwest Field Marketing Manager Laura Golonka tells us, they’re “part sustainable water company, part philanthropic project.” Their special boxed packaging is 97% plant-based and 100% recyclable because “our planet doesn’t need more plastic bottles!”

Boxed Water felt it was important to recognize healthcare heroes, and for them to have water at their fingertips when needed in a sustainable package.

“Healthcare workers and frontline responders are putting their lives on the line everyday to help COVID-19 patients. Boxed Water felt it was important to recognize healthcare heroes,” says Laura.

“Through outreach to hospitals and care facilities in the Chicago area, Boxed Water has donated hundreds of cases of water. We felt it was important for healthcare workers to have water at their fingertips when needed in a sustainable package such as Boxed Water!”

This month, Boxed Water also celebrated reaching their goal of planting 1,000,000 trees in partnership with the National Forest Foundation! Now, they’re getting started on their next 1,000,000 with their “Name a Tree” campaign. Give your favorite houseplant a name, and Boxed Water will plant a tree in the National Forests! Share yours online or tag them on social @boxedwater with #betterplanet.
